Anyone over 18 who can credibly reach independent retail businesses — consultants, accountants, agencies, creators, journalists, and existing Hichers shopkeepers. We review every application personally during the early stage of the programme.
By bank transfer to a UK or international bank account you nominate in your affiliate dashboard. Payouts happen quarterly: Q1 (Jan–Mar) paid by 15 April, Q2 by 15 July, Q3 by 15 October, Q4 by 15 January of the following year.
All payouts are in the same currency as the referred shop's subscription — one of GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, or SGD. If you refer shops across multiple currencies, you'll receive a separate payout for each currency. Your bank's exchange rate and fees apply if you receive a payout in a currency different to your bank account.
If a shop you referred cancels their Hichers subscription, commissions for that shop stop from the cancellation date. If they re-subscribe within 90 days, you keep your attribution and commissions resume. After 90 days, attribution resets.
The subscription fees Hichers actually receives from your referred shop, net of refunds, credits or chargebacks. We don't deduct payment processor fees — your commission is calculated on the gross subscription amount.
One-off fees (set-up, hardware, professional services) don't count. Only recurring subscription revenue.
Yes, any time, via your dashboard. The switch only applies to new referrals after the switch date. Existing referrals continue earning at the plan they were attributed under.
This means there's no penalty for switching — you don't lose past earnings. Just future ones.
Self-referrals are banned. We detect them automatically (same owner, payment method, address, IP cluster, or email domain). Attempted self-referrals result in commission forfeiture and may lead to account termination.
If you're an existing shopkeeper, you can still be an affiliate and refer other shopkeepers — just not your own businesses.
No. Affiliates and referred shops can both be based anywhere in the world.
Hichers sells subscriptions in six currencies — GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, SGD — depending on the shop's country. Shops in countries outside that list pay in USD. You're commissioned in the same currency the shop pays in, and paid quarterly in that currency.
You're responsible for taxes in your own country of residence.
Up to 4.5 months from a referral to your first payout, in the worst case. Example: a shop signs up on 31 March 2026 (last day of Q1). Their first month of revenue lands in Q1. Q1 commissions are paid by 15 April 2026.
For a shop signing up on 1 April 2026 (first day of Q2), revenue accrues across Q2 and is paid by 15 July 2026 — 3.5 months later.
If you're not VAT-registered, you receive the commission as-is. If you're VAT-registered, you provide us with a valid VAT invoice each quarter and we pay you the amount plus VAT.
Either way, you're responsible for declaring and paying any taxes due in your country.
If you voluntarily leave the programme, all your existing referrals continue paying commission for the life of those attributions. We honour past work.
If we terminate your account for cause (fraud, breach of terms), all unpaid commission is forfeited.
