I'm not tech-savvy. Is this hard to set up?+
No. Someone from Hichers walks you through the first setup — on a video call or in your shop, whichever suits you. Most shopkeepers are up and running in under an hour. If something confuses you later, email us and a real person replies within a day.
You don't need to know what an API is. You don't need to fiddle with settings. If you can use a smartphone, you can use Hichers.
My regulars don't have smartphones. Will they use it?+
The customers you're worried about — the older ones, the ones who "don't do apps" — are exactly the ones who surprise you. Most already use WhatsApp with their family and pay with contactless. Hichers works the same way: they scan a QR code at the till, or you scan a code they show on their phone. That's it. No app store, no signup form, no fuss.
For customers who genuinely can't use a phone, you can still track them by name in the dashboard and reward them the same way you always have.
How is this different from a paper stamp card?+
Three ways. First, nobody loses a paper card if it lives in their phone — so your loyalty programme actually gets used instead of forgotten. Second, you know exactly who's redeeming what and when, which means you can spot patterns paper cards will never show you (like: "the customers who redeem a free coffee come back within a week to buy something else").
Third — and this is the big one — you can reach them. If a regular hasn't visited in three weeks, Hichers can send them a "we miss you, coffee's on us" message automatically. Try doing that with a stack of paper cards.
What if it doesn't work for my shop?+
Start with a 30-day free trial. You'll get the full All-In-One plan for the whole month — every feature, no limits. We ask for a card at signup so we can verify you're a real shop (loyalty platforms attract a lot of fraud attempts), but nothing gets charged until day 30. Cancel anytime before then and you pay nothing.
If it's not making your shop better by the end of the month, cancel and we say thanks for trying us. No hard sell, no exit survey, no chase-up emails.
If you do stay and it turns out the plan you picked isn't the right one, switch anytime. Downgrade, upgrade, or pause — your choice, no penalty.
Do I have to give away discounts to make this work?+
No. Discounts train customers to wait for the next discount. Hichers is built around a different idea: reward the customers you already have for coming back, and give them small reasons to visit more often.
A free coffee after ten stamps costs you a few pounds of coffee. It's earned you ten visits. That's not a discount — it's how Costa built a business.

Honestly? We're early. We're building Hichers with a small, growing group of independent shopkeepers across the UK — mostly cafés, bakeries, and specialist food shops so far. Their feedback shapes what we build next.
If that sounds like a warning, we get it. But it also means you get direct access to the founders, features built for your shop specifically, and pricing that stays fair as we grow. If you'd rather wait until we have a thousand logos to show you, we understand — just come back in a year.
What is Hichers and what does it cost me?+
Hichers is a free app for collecting stamps, points, cash-back and rewards at the independent shops you already love. There's no charge to download it or to use it — you just collect and redeem as you shop.
How do I collect and redeem stamps?+
At the till, either scan the shop's QR code with the app, or show your code for the shopkeeper to scan. Your stamps and points are saved to your phone automatically — nothing to carry, nothing to lose. When you've earned a reward, redeem it the same way at the shop.
How do gift cards work?+
You can buy digital gift cards in the app — either for a specific shop, or a mall gift card you can spend at any participating shop in that mall. They live in your Wallet, show a code or QR to redeem, and can be topped up. Redeem them in-store just like stamps.
